Liveived Experience Advisors (LEA), we believe that those who have faced homelessness firsthand are the most powerful advocates for change. Our collective is made up of individuals who have successfully rebuilt their lives and are now leading efforts to create a more effective, compassionate, and trauma-informed housing recovery system.
With over 41 leadership roles in community boards, public forums, and City Hall discussions, our members are actively shaping policies and challenging misconceptions. By sharing their stories and insights, they help drive real solutions that address homelessness at its root.
Our Mission: Through recruitment, training, and ongoing support, we develop systems experts, persuasive public speakers, and dedicated civic leaders who work to improve the housing recovery process. We also tackle the systemic inequalities that fuel poverty by advocating for economic security, civic engagement, and personal empowerment.

Lived Experience Advisors (LEA) is a grassroots organization comprised of individuals who have experienced homelessness firsthand. Our focus is empowering those with lived experience to advocate for their rights and those facing homelessness.
We work tirelessly to:Influence government policies to support sustainable housing for all income levels, engage local programs to understand the complexities of homelessness and, push for systemic change that improves access to housing, essential services, and dignified treatment for all individuals.
LEA believes those who have experienced homelessness are the best experts on the issue and should be at the forefront of advocacy efforts. Together, we can create a brighter future for everyone in our community.
